Introduction
Product overview
Testladen is a modular, rack-mountable test appliance for embedded engineering teams. A single 3U chassis hosts a set of hot-swappable extension modules, power control, serial interfaces, network, and environmental monitoring.
Testladen is built to be driven by automation. Every function exposed on the front panel is also available through the testladen-cli command-line tool and the JSON-RPC API, making it straightforward to fold into CI pipelines and existing test frameworks.
Intended use
Testladen is intended for use by test engineers and integrators in a laboratory, workshop or production-test environment for exercising and observing embedded devices under test (DUTs). Typical uses include:
- Automated regression testing
- Integration and sytem testing
- Boot-mode selection, flashing and recovery of DUTs
- Environmental and long-run soak testing
Testladen is an indoor, professionally installed piece of equipment. It is not intended for use in explosive atmospheres, life-support systems, or outdoor/uncontrolled environments.
Target audience
This manual is written for test engineers, lab technicians and integrators who are comfortable with rack-mounted equipment, basic electrical safety and command-line tooling. No knowledge of the internal hardware design is required to operate the appliance.
