Maintenance & cleaning
Routine care keeps your Testladen reliable over its full service life. Power off and disconnect mains before any cleaning or physical inspection.
Cleaning the enclosure
- Wipe external surfaces with a dry or slightly damp lint-free cloth.
- For stubborn marks, use a cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol (IPA, ≥ 70 %) on painted and metal surfaces only.
- ⚡ Do not apply solvents, IPA or aggressive cleaners to labels, the calibration certificate, connector contacts or the display window — they can lift printing or leave residue on contacts.
- Never spray liquid directly onto or into the appliance. Apply cleaner to the cloth, not the chassis.
- Do not use acetone, ammonia-based cleaners, or abrasive pads.
Ventilation and dust
- Keep the front intake and rear exhaust clear; check the ventilation clearances given in Getting started.
- Vacuum or blow out accumulated dust from the intake vents with dry, oil-free compressed air. Hold fans still while blowing them out to avoid over-spinning.
- If your unit is fitted with an intake dust filter, inspect it monthly in dusty environments and rinse or replace it when clogged. Reinstall only when fully dry.
Connector care
- ⚡ Do not hot-plug the DUT power, debug or backplane connections. Power down the relevant rail or the appliance before connecting or disconnecting them.
- USB and network ports may be connected while powered.
- Inspect connectors for bent pins, corrosion or wear; replace worn cabling promptly.
