Testladen

Safety information

Read this section in full before unpacking, installing or operating your Testladen. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the equipment or the device under test.

Electrical safety

  • ⚠️ Testladen operates from 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz mains. Connect only to a correctly earthed mains outlet using the supplied IEC cable.
  • ⚠️ The appliance relies on protective earth through the mains inlet. Never defeat the earth connection or use an unearthed adapter — the chassis must remain bonded to ground at all times.
  • Ensure the mains outlet is easily accessible; the appliance is disconnected from mains only by unplugging the power cable.
  • The internal supply is fused (T4 A / 250 V). Do not bypass or replace the fuse with a different rating.
  • Do not open the chassis while powered. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the electronics housing. Refer service to qualified personnel only.
  • Do not connect a DUT power rail exceeding the module's rated limits (see Technical specifications).

ESD precautions

Testladen and its modules contain static-sensitive components, and it is frequently connected to sensitive DUTs.

  • ⚡ Always handle modules and DUT interconnects at an ESD-safe workstation, wearing a grounded wrist strap.
  • Keep modules in their anti-static packaging until installation.
  • Touch a bonded ground point on the chassis before connecting or disconnecting signal cabling.
  • Do not touch backplane or module edge connectors directly.

  • Operating temperature: 0 °C to +40 °C
  • Storage temperature: −20 °C to +70 °C
  • Relative humidity: 10–90 %, non-condensing
  • Ingress protection: IP20 — indoor, dry-location use only
  • Maximum operating altitude: 2000 m
  • Pollution degree: 2 (office/laboratory environment)

Do not operate the appliance where liquids, conductive dust or condensation may enter the enclosure. Allow a unit moved from a cold environment to reach room temperature before powering on.

Rack-mounting warnings

  • ⚠️ The chassis weighs up to 9.5 kg fully populated. Use two people or a lift when installing, and support the unit until both rack ears are secured.
  • Mount the appliance on rails or a shelf rated for the load. The front rack ears are for retention only and must not bear the full weight of the unit.
  • Do not overload the rack. Install heavier equipment toward the bottom to keep the rack's centre of gravity low.
  • Maintain the specified ventilation clearance (see Getting started). Blocked airflow can cause thermal shutdown.
  • Ensure the rack is bonded to protective earth and mechanically stable before installation.
